Little Moments: Growing Up helps parents and caregivers capture conversations, stories, and everyday memories worth keeping. We are committed to keeping your data private and handling it responsibly.

Overview

We designed this app to be local-first, meaning your moments stay on your device unless you choose to use AI-powered processing features.

We do not require accounts, and we do not use your data for advertising or tracking.

Information We Use

When you use the app:

We do not collect personal information beyond what is necessary to provide this functionality.

• Moments you create (recordings and text) are stored locally on your device
• When you use AI-powered features, the content needed for that request is sent through our backend for processing

Optional iCloud Backup

If you turn on iCloud Backup in the iPhone or iPad app, a copy of your profiles, saved moments, favorites, generated insights, and unfinished draft is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. The app uses your existing Apple Account; no separate Little Moments account is required.

You can restore backups on an iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. Backups are separate from our AI backend and are handled by Apple under its applicable iCloud terms and privacy policy.

You can turn off automatic backup or delete all Little Moments iCloud backups in Settings > Backup & Export. Turning backup off does not delete existing backups. Deleting local moments does not remove them from older backups until those backups are replaced or deleted. The app retains the three most recent backups from each installation.

AI Processing

Some features in Little Moments: Growing Up use third-party AI processing. When you choose to use these features, certain content may leave your device so we can provide the result you asked for.

Depending on the feature you use, this may include:

This content is sent to OpenAI through our backend to provide features such as transcription, AI-refined quotes, conversation formatting, and AI insights.

Your moments remain stored locally on your device. Our backend is used to process AI requests and is not intended to permanently store submitted moment content or audio.

If you prefer not to send content for AI processing, you can avoid using AI-powered features where they are optional. You can also delete locally stored moments from the app at any time.

Third-party AI processing is used only to provide app features and should be handled under the provider's applicable data protection terms.

• Voice or audio you submit for transcription

How Your Data Is Used

• We do not maintain a long-term database of your personal content

Third-Party Processing

We use OpenAI, through our backend, to process content you submit for AI-powered features. This processing is used only to generate the result for your request.

We work with service providers that are expected to provide reasonable protections for data processed on our behalf.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data during transmission. However, no internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children’s Privacy

This app is intended for use by parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Control

You are always in control of your data:

• You decide what to record and save
• You can choose whether to use AI-powered processing features where applicable
• You can delete moments at any time directly on your device

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date.
